JIVA - Edu-create: Association by 5

Learning on-line

The 5th chakra is the chakra of speech, discrimination and creative learning.

This post is a proposal for a holistic educational model (the JIVA5) that could one day allow people to learn on line via the web and fast track the re-education of, or give the mature aged work force a second chance at, acedemia and skills that is becoming more and more of a need in our global, ever changing, economy. With the character based values (Edu-care) that swami imparts, the hope is that a comprehensive model might develop to integrate the balance of inquiry based character to counter the fraud that the recent financial crisis has exposed; that technology will be a force for the open sharing of knowledge for all.

The JIVA5 is a concept that proposes a vision of how to develop this through applying the ancient Indian teachings of the Sanata Dharma in a contemporary, universal context. It draws on, and make a correlation between, the (Sankhya) philosophy (from Sage Kapila) of the 5 elements and 5 senses (Tatwas) that make up our impersonal and personal universe, to the metaphysical significance of the Fibonacci number in sacred geometry, the pentagram, and man's DNA (Fibonacci spiral), to the global synthesis of mankind around the 5 root races; black, brown, yellow, red and white.

The edu-create proposal is the addition to the edu-care system of Swami's but instead of 5 human values it uses the association by 5 between subject categories. The aim is to help bridge the Educare pre-teens of learning that sanctifies the emotions to the abstract levels of philosophy and intellect (edu-cate) that were covered in the 6th chakra posts. Such a model would not only continue the character based education of the educare system but prepare them for a metaphoric method to harness their creativity for the knowledge based economy.

Thus, with a 3HV approach, from Edu-care (Heart) to Edu-create (Hands) to Edu-cate (Head), this post is just a proposed summary of this holistic education model using the same association by 5 in a learning process (followed by a triangular hemispheric integration method mentioned in the 6th chakra of left brain/petal, right brain/petal and bindhu chakra) to assist students in cross-referencing and synthesizing subject learning. This is to help mind map, by an essential conceptual framework, the mass of specialized knowledge that is part of our informational age.
